Today we’re speaking to Ghislaine, our Specialist in Assurance & Controls, to give us insight into working at NewDay.
How long have you worked for NewDay?
18 months so far!
How would you describe what you do at NewDay in one sentence?
I ensure all Credit & Collections decisions and activities adhere to legal, regulatory and NewDay specific policies and standards.
Tell us about your proudest achievement or your most memorable day at NewDay.
I’ve designed and implemented a testing approach that is used on a monthly basis to assure the quality, accuracy and compliance of the critical processes used in each team!
What does the NewDay Manifesto mean to you?
The Manifesto is at the core of all we do; my role allows me to check that our daily activities are focused on helping customers be better with credit. I am passionate about feeding back the voice of the customer to our strategy and operational teams.
The three best things about working at NewDay are…
1) The people and culture — it’s a real can-do attitude and people go out of their way to help you succeed.
2) It’s a meritocracy — if you have good ideas you’re encouraged to progress them regardless of your grade or length of service.
3) Every day is different — it’s a great environment to learn and develop quickly.
What’s the most interesting / exciting meeting in your diary this week?
I’m currently leading audit preparation work for one of our recent product launches and got to present my idea, concerns and work to the Director of Credit Management and the Chief Credit and Collections Officer.
Tell us about the social side of NewDay — what’s your favourite event been?
There’s a lot of opportunities to socialise and build relationships with your colleagues — such as yoga classes, beer and pizza, summer and Christmas parties as well as off sites!
